Opening statement
-
Fitting techniques have become a central part of H1 physics analysis.
The individual goals envisioned cover a broad spectrum of physics
(parton distributions, alpha-s, ew-parameters, contact interactions...),
however, technically many aspects and problems are very similar.
To ensure successful H1 analysis and to keep high standards,
it is probably useful to communicate on programs (e.g. QCD evolution),
versions, problems, minimization procedures etc. The best way forward
is to come together and discuss (with transparencies)
- what the individual aims are,
- what programs are used in which version,
- where are open questions/problems.
